About Us:

C1 Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable - Brokerage Accountant. This entry-level position requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and exceptional attention to detail. You will contribute to ensuring the accuracy of accounts payable records and support smooth financial operations for the brokerage team.

Working Hours:

2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Local Time)

Key Responsibilities:

• Invoice Management:

• Upload carrier invoices into the TMS system (McLeod).
• Verify invoice rates against system records and resolve discrepancies with the Brokerage team.
• Assist with uploading documentation for funding purposes.

• Communication:

• Collaborate with carriers, factoring companies, and other stakeholders via email and phone.
• Resolve issues, retrieve missing paperwork, verify rates, and provide payment timelines.

• Currency Management:

• Handle multi-currency payments (CAD and USD).
• Ensure rate confirmations match invoice currencies and resolve mismatches with carriers or factoring companies.

• Banking Details Validation:

• Verify carrier banking details, including voided checks, bank letters, SWIFT codes, and Notices of Assignment (NOA).
• Identify and correct discrepancies to ensure accurate payment processing.

• Reporting:

• Prepare internal weekly reports on carrier payments.
• Use Excel for payment records with formulas like SUMIFS and INDEX(MATCH()), and PivotTables (training provided if needed).

• Record Maintenance:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, ensuring timely payments and avoiding duplication.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with international stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formula knowledge is a plus).
• Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and banking documentation.

Preferred Experience:

• Background in Accounting, Customer Service, Data Management, or back-office support.
• Experience in Transportation or Logistics is a plus but not mandatory.
